Therapist Consultation
1:1 Clinical Consultation for Therapists Working With Mom Burnout
Mom burnout is rarely just about needing more self-care.
In clinical work, it often opens the door to deeper themes: guilt, resentment, identity loss, perfectionism, emotional labour, self-abandonment, early relational patterns, internalized expectations, and the pressure to perform motherhood well.
These are not always simple themes to hold as a therapist.
You may find yourself wondering:
How do I help this client move beyond venting and into deeper insight?
How do I work with resentment when the client feels guilty for even naming it?
How do I support boundaries when prioritizing herself feels selfish, unsafe, or impossible?
How do I conceptualize the deeper emotional patterns underneath the burnout?
How do I work with the cultural and systemic realities of motherhood without losing sight of the client’s internal world?
This 1:1 clinical consultation space is designed to help you think more deeply, clearly, and confidently about your work with mothers experiencing burnout.
A Reflective, Human Space for Deeper Clinical Thinking
This consultation is for therapists who want support applying a psychodynamic, Gestalt-informed, and feminist lens to their clinical work with mothers.
Together, we can explore the emotional, relational, developmental, and cultural layers of your client work, while also paying attention to your own experience as the therapist.
This is not a rigid protocol or a script for what to say in session.
It is a thoughtful, collaborative space where we can slow down, look beneath the surface, and make sense of what may be happening in the room.
And because I am very much not a blank-slate therapist, this consultation space is also warm, conversational, and human. There is room for honesty, curiosity, humour, laughter, and the realness of clinical work.
This Consultation May Be a Good Fit If You
Work with mothers experiencing burnout, overwhelm, resentment, guilt, emotional exhaustion, or identity loss
Want to better understand what is happening beneath surface-level stress
Feel unsure how to move beyond self-care, coping skills, or boundary-setting conversations
Want support with case conceptualization and treatment direction
Are interested in psychodynamic, Gestalt-informed, relational, and feminist approaches
Want to explore transference, countertransference, resistance, stuckness, and emotional themes in the work
Enjoy consultation spaces that are reflective, warm, honest, and collaborative
Are not interested in being a blank slate and want to bring more of your humanity into the work
Want to feel more confident supporting mothers beyond the postpartum period
Are looking for a clinically thoughtful space that still feels real, grounded, and relational
What We Can Explore Together

Guilt, resentment, perfectionism, self-abandonment, and identity loss
Invisible labour and emotional labour
Internalized expectations of the “good mother”
Early relational patterns and inherited roles
Boundaries, agency, communication, and emotional regulation
Gestalt-informed interventions, including chair work and younger-self dialogue
Transference and countertransference
Therapist stuckness, uncertainty, or emotional responses
How to deepen the work without overwhelming the client
How to hold both personal history and motherhood culture in the clinical formulation
How to use more of yourself in the therapeutic relationship while staying grounded and clinically intentional
How I Am as a Consultant
My consultation style is warm, reflective, collaborative, and depth-oriented.
I am not here to position myself as the expert above you or tell you exactly what to do with your client. I am much more interested in helping you strengthen your own clinical thinking, trust your instincts, and understand what may be happening beneath the surface.
I pay attention to patterns, emotional themes, relational dynamics, language, contradictions, avoided feelings, cultural pressures, and what may be happening between you and the client.
I also bring my full self into the space. I enjoy working with therapists who are thoughtful, curious, honest, and human. There is room for depth, but also for warmth, laughter, and the kind of real conversation that can make consultation feel both supportive and clinically rich.
Therapists who consult with me can expect a space that is thoughtful, grounded, nonjudgmental, relational, and practical without being overly manualized.

30-Minute Fit Meeting
Before beginning consultation, you are welcome to book a free 30-minute fit meeting.
This meeting is a chance for us to connect, discuss what you are looking for, and determine whether this consultation space is the right fit for your clinical needs.
During this meeting, we can talk about your practice, the types of cases or themes you are hoping to consult on, and what kind of support would feel most helpful.
This meeting is not a consultation session and does not include detailed case guidance. It is simply a chance to determine fit before moving forward.
Who This Is For
This consultation is for therapists, counsellors, psychotherapists, social workers, qualifying therapists, and mental health professionals who work with mothers and want to deepen their clinical understanding of mom burnout.
This may be especially relevant if your clients are high-functioning, overwhelmed, perfectionistic, resentful, emotionally depleted, disconnected from themselves, or struggling under the invisible pressures of motherhood.
Important Note
Consultation is not supervision, therapy, or emergency support.
You remain clinically and ethically responsible for your own client work, documentation, decision-making, and adherence to the standards of your regulatory body or professional association.
Recommended, But Not Required
My training, Working Clinically With Mom Burnout, pairs well with this consultation space and can provide a strong foundation for the way I conceptualize this work.
That said, the training is not required.
You are welcome to apply for consultation whether or not you have taken the training.
